I am 27 years old and I come from… Udine!
I studied… Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Trieste.
My role in 5000genomi@Vda:
I am working on the development of bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) data regarding patients with neurodegenerative diseases, in order to learn more about the genetic mechanisms underpinning them.
For me, the 5000genomi@VdA project is:
a post-graduate opportunity to gain experience in bioinformatics, after having performed an internship for my Master’s degree dissertation at Burlo Garofolo Hospital in Trieste, which enabled me to learn and use specific software packages and to develop pipelines for the analysis of NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data.
What I expect from 5000genomi@VdA:
personally, I hope to learn how to process and independently analyse large volumes of NGS data, and, for the entire scientific community, to contribute to the understanding of the causes of neurodegenerative diseases, laying the foundations for treatment and providing tangible support for doctors, both for improving diagnostics and for a better handling of disease.
